Werkstaette Hagenauer was foundet by Carl Hagenauer 1898.
First the company was concentrated on the production of "Viennese Bronce-products". After turn of the century modern tendencies of the applied arts took place and the "Jugendstil" came in fashion and The Wiener Werkstaette has its great influence.
Karl and Franz Hagenauer, the successors of Carl, had formative influence to the immage of the Werkstaette Hagenauer. Besides furniture and houshold articles, a great variety of articles were made in metal and wood. Monumental sculptures and unusual mini-sculptures came out.
In the 1920ie and 30ies a distinct tendency to a radical reduction of form. A tencency which has changed again in the 1940ies in favour of a more representional forms.
